Monday 16th December - Children in Years 3-6 have now been invited to wear their Christmas Mufti Outfits to school again on Monday for their Christmas Concerts. Children in Reception to Year 2 should still wear normal school uniform.


Spanish is taught to Key Stage 2 children in half termly rotational blocks. Children learn the language through songs, games and a range of other practical activities.


At the end of their primary Spanish learning, the Year 6 children get the opportunity to prepare and eat a range of Tapas in the Summer Term.


Here is a breakdown of learning throughout the year:


Year 3:

Greetings, names, numbers to 20, basic Spanish phonics, colours, pets and some food words.


Year 4:

Family, shapes, colours, birthdays and body parts and descriptive phases.


Year 5:

Numbers to 30, time, sports, opinions, music and expressing an opinion.


Year 6:

Weather, seasons, festivals, names of buildings and facilities in a town, independent research on a Spanish speaking country and making and sharing a tapas meal.
