Applying for Free School Meals

Registering your child for Free School Meals means the School gets Extra Money

The government gives money to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best. This funding is called 'Pupil Premium'. If you are registered for Free School Meals you could also get help with the costs of clubs, uniform and residential trips in Years 4 and 6. Your child does not have to have a school dinner - they can still have a packed lunch.

You can apply if your child is in Reception - Year 6. All children in Reception, Year 1 or 2 are currently entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme, however you can still apply for Free School Meals and will receive the extra help if eligible.

It is very important , if your child is entitled, that you still register. For every child registered the school receives additional funding of £1,320.

There are 3 ways to register either login to https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/ (the online application process links to Department for Education system for checking eligibility and gives an immediate 'yes' or 'no' response and will notify the school directly) online at  https://www.sutton.gov.uk/info/200521/benefits/1288/free_school_meals_and_pupil_premium or ring 020 8770 6953.

No-one will know you have registered and it will not affect any benefits you are claiming.
