Friday 20th November - Be Bright Be Seen Mufti Day

Road Safety Week Years 1–6

Monday 16th to 20th November 2020

Road Safety Week is an initiative run by the charity Brake and this year the theme is ‘No Need To Speed’.

At High View we will be celebrating this week with children in Years 1 – 6 taking part in a number of different activities. These will include PSHE lessons, debates, assemblies and songs.

On Friday 20th November we will be holding a ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ mufti day, where children in Years 1 to 6 will be invited to come to school dressed in their brightest and/or most reflective clothing.

Our aim is to highlight to the children the importance of wearing brightly coloured or reflective clothing so that they can be seen when using the road and especially when it is getting darker earlier in the evenings or when there is bad weather.

Please note that the usual rules will apply regarding mufti day, clothes should be approrpriate for a day at school and the weather at this time of year.     No football shirts, open toe shoes, cropped tops, exposed shoulders or shorts.     We will not be collecting any donations for this mufti day: it is purely to demonstrate the importance of bright clothing.

If your child’s class has PE on a Friday please ensure they are wearing clothes and footwear suitable for their PE lesson, this is so they will not have to change into PE kits.
