Gifted & Talented

Gifted and Talented

'Gifted and Talented' is a term used in schools to describe children who have the potential to develop significantly beyond what is expected for their age.

'Gifted' refers to a child who has abilities in one or more academic subjects, such as English or Maths.

'Talented' refers to a child who has skills in a practical area such as Music, Sport, Drama or Art.

At High View, children are invited to a G&T club every Thursday morning to showcase their individual skills and talents. Activities this year have included producing a termly magazine and children are in the process of shooting podcasts in which they will teach other children a skill or strategy. Once a term, children are invited to a Saturday morning club for two hours where they take part in activities linked to lateral thinking skills and team building exercises.

''G&T is brilliant because you get to showcase your skills outside of class time.' Alex (Kingfishers)

'l am excited to shoot podcasts and show the learning l've been doing over the past half term' Sam (Doves)
