Early Years

EYFS

Starting school is always a daunting time for both the children and of course parents. You start to wonder what you can do to make the transition from home to school a happy and easy one, whether your child is prepared and ready and if there is anything you should be doing?

All these thoughts and feelings are natural and many parents have a few sleepless nights before that first day at school.

At High View we try to provide you with as much information as possible before your child starts with us to help you feel supported and happy before that first day.

Below you will find a link to a short pamphlet from Oxford Press about preparing your child for school, you can either download it or read it online. We hope you find it helpful.

What to expect, when?

It is widely recognised the vital role parents have in supporting their children's learning and development. Parents need to know what to expect in relation to their child's development through the different age bands of the EYFS.

What to expect, when? is a simple guide which takes parents through the expectations of each age band in the EYFS and how they can supprt their children's learning and development.
